
The New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control has given authorization for the purchase of land to build a new facility.
Sykes said the board wants to renovate its current building on S 17th Street after the new facility is complete.NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The New Hanover County Alcoholic Beverage Control has given authorization for the purchase of land to build a new facility.
According to a press release sent by ABC CEO Dan Sykes, the board plans to buy 12.63 acres of land near the intersection of Market Street and Judges Road. The agreed purchase price is $1,200,000.
The want to use that land to build a new facility to house the main distribution center; to act as a second outlet for sales to mixed beverage permit holders; and to house administrative offices.
Sykes said the board wants to renovate its current building on S 17th Street after the new facility is complete. The renovations to the S 17th Street store would include an expanded retail ABC store and an outlet for sales to mixed beverage permit holders.
