WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Showers ahead of an afternoon cold front will move toward the area today. Our high temperatures will climb into the mid 60s as significantly warmer air moves into the region on south winds. The shower activity will be light - as a weak cold front moves west to east across the region Our rain chances start after lunch with some ‘heavier' rain chances picking up during the ride home from school at 4:00. Rain totals will struggle to reach a quarter inch (.25").
High pressure moves in throughout the day on Wednesday as sunny skies will prevail. In spite of the sunshine highs will only push into the mid 50s both Wednesday and Thursday.
Better shower and thunderstorm chances will move in as we go through the day Friday and most of the day Saturday as well as an upper level low, and associated cold front stall near the area.
