CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Questions about the future funding for the Boardwalk Makeover Group seem to have been answered, according to one group volunteer.
Brett Keeler tells WECT.com that he met with Mayor Bob Lewis and other town staff to discuss the organization now known as Carolina Beach Downtown Initiative.
Town council postponed approval for the group's share of Room Occupancy Tax money at its last meeting. Keeler said he was under the impression that changes were on the way to take shift some of the group's activities to other agencies in the town, but Monday's meeting left him feeling relieved.
The meeting was a positive one, according to Keeler. He said he feels good about the future of the downtown initiative, but won't know for sure until Tuesday's meeting.
