WEATHER: Sunny with Arctic cold for Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The snow has ended but behind Saturday's system a batch of very cold Arctic air has made its way into southeast North Carolina.  Early Sunday morning slick spots on bridges and overpasses will be a concern as morning temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20's.  Wind chills could be a low as 15 Sunday morning so bundle up with: a hat, gloves, and a heavy coat.  Also be careful if you walking on the sidewalk with icy spots possible.

By 11 AM all temperatures will be above 32 so that will end any travel issues.  Sunday afternoon will be windy and very cold with highs in the low 40's.  A stiff northwest wind at 15-20 miles per hour will keep wind chill near 30 around 3:00 PM.  Sunday night will be clear and very cold with lows in the low 20's.

Monday will be mostly sunny and still cold with highs in the upper 40's.  Temperatures quickly moderate Monday night into Tuesday.  Lows Monday night will be in the upper 30's.  By Tuesday another system heads our way with a chance of rain.  Highs Tuesday will soar into the mid 60's.

Sunday: 42/22

Monday: 48/38

Tuesday: 64/43
