WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Drier air is moving in behind yesterdays showers. Highs today won't likely be as warm as we will see not only cooler air on the move but some high clouds as well. That help keep temperatures in the mid 50s this afternoon.
Tonight as you head out for Valentine's day we will see quick cooling with mostly clear skies – temperatures will fall into the lower 30s overnight - so a heavier coat than what you have needed over the last few nights will be a good idea.
Friday will be the nicest day of the next several as high temperatures grind up into the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies. Light breezes will become more prominent during the evening in advance of a fast moving, intense , yet dry cold front. Saturday will feel cooler with breezy conditions. By Sunday morning our lows will drive into the 20s as some Arctic air sets up.
Showers and warmer conditions are expected by Tuesday.
