A student taking a WWII-era grenade to class Wednesday led to the evacuation of a Blythewood elementary school.
Officials with Richland School District Two said the student took the practice grenade to Langford Elementary in Blythewood for show-and-tell. Once the teacher saw the grenade, the principal was notified.
The school was evacuated. The Richland County Sheriff's department was called to confiscate the practice grenade.
Once it was removed, students were allowed back in the school.
Ken Blackstone from Richland School District Two says officials are reviewing the situation to determine if the student will be disciplined.
