Commissioners were hoping to close on the deal by February 15, but now the closing date is set for March 18.BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The closing date on the old hospital building in Brunswick County has been pushed back…again.
Commissioners were hoping to close on the deal by February 15, but now the closing date is set for March 18.
The date was pushed back because of financing issues on behalf of the interested buyer.
The county has to pay about $20,000 to $30,000 per month in energy and utility costs until the property is sold.
Elected leaders have tried for months to sell the property off Highway 17 but have had a number of interested companies back out at the last minute.
