WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Roads in the area of 4399 Blue Clay Rd. and N. College Rd. have reopened after being temporarily closed Tuesday due to an accident involving an overturned dump truck, according to authorities with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.

Blue Clay Road was closed from College to Old Mill Road earlier. EMS workers were on the scene and officers had blocked the road.

Authorities say the driver of the dump truck from Evergreen Clearing Company was traveling on College Rd. and tried to make a right turn onto Blue Clay Rd.  The weight of the load likely made the truck tip over and hit a pick-up truck.

The driver of the dump truck will be cited. No word on injuries.
