WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Showers and moderate rain will book end the day today with active showers during the morning and post dusk hours. In the middle we will see an area of high pressure pushing drier air in from the north. This will be short lived however as the trough to the south that brought the rain glides back over eastern North Carolina late Tuesday. High temperatures should reach the low 60s.
An upper level disturbance out of the Gulf Coast states will ride along this boundary through our area on Wednesday into early Thursday bringing showers and the occasional thunderstorm. Rainfall totals could eclipse one inch (1") or better across the I-95 corridor to the coast.
Thursday we will see clearer conditions by the afternoon with temperatures in the low 60s.
This weekend a cold front will drive eastward bringing cooler temperatures and limited opportunities for precipitation.
