The family released the following statement:
This is a horrific tragedy that should have never taken place. Our father and mother were very much in love and never ever harmed each other in anyway. We can definitely without a shadow of a doubt tell you this is not the loving, caring, kindhearted, and trusted Wife, Mother and Sister that we all love and respect. Our mother, Becky Nance is coping with some mental issues that has affected her state of mind and we are working with professionals to get her the best treatment available to her at this time. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to our family and friends for sticking by us and also to the community for your support and all the wonderful comments about our Daddy and Mama. They were loved and respected by many and would do anything they could to lend a hand to others. Again from the bottom of our families heart.......THANK YOU!!
Deputies say, they never received any domestic calls from the couple's home. The only thing on Becky's record is a simple assault charge from 2004.
