NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Kevin Frink, a student at Isaac Bear Early College, will return to class Monday after an experience few can compete with, let alone comprehend.

Frink placed second in the Physics and Astronomy division at the Taiwan International Science Fair.

His father let WECT.com know that Frink did great representing the United States.

But the work isn't over for the teenager. Frink presented another project at the Southeast Regional Science Fair at UNCW this Saturday. This time he was joined by fellow student Brittany Williams.

The duo placed first in one of two biology divisions and took home the  Wayne Hanson Excellence in Science Award. They advance to the 2013 North Carolina Science and Engineering Fair to be held March 15-16 at Meredith College in Raleigh

Williams also won the Women in Science Award, according to Frink's father.
