WEATHER: A seasonable Sunday, rain moves in for Monday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Sunday will start of mostly sunny and cold with a light northeast breeze.  Temperatures will start off in the upper 20's to near 30 so grab a coat if you are headed to church.  During the afternoon high and mid level clouds will increase as the next system begins to move into the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.  Afternoon highs will reach seasonable levels in the upper 50's.  Sunday night clouds continue to increase with rain possible after 2 AM.  Lows will be near 50.

Heavy rain appears to be a good bet for the Monday morning commute.  It should be mild with temperatures near 60 and there could even be enough instability for a few thunderstorms.  Heavier showers should end Monday afternoon with highs in the upper 60's.  Shower chances return Tuesday afternoon and an even stronger storm will bring heavier and more widespread rain on Wednesday.   Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the low to mid 60's.

Sunday: 58/50

Monday: 69/53

Tuesday: 64/49
