Former Hoggard standout Jonathan Cooper (UNC) and New Hanover's Nick Becton (VaTech) have both been invited to participate in the upcoming NFL draft combine which will take place from Feb. 20-26 in Indianapolis.

Every prospect that has been invited to the combine can be found on NFLCombine.net.

The combine is the first step in the drafting process, giving prospects a chance to showcase their skills.

This past season Cooper graded out at 90 percent with double digits in knockdown blocks in nine of the Tar Heels' 12 games. The Tar Heels set single-season records in scoring, total offense and passing yards. Running behind Cooper UNC tailback Giovani Bernard ran for 1,228 yards and is listed as the top running back at the scouting combine.

As a senior Becton started all 13 games at left tackle for the Hokies.  After injury plagued seasons in his first three years he was in on 1,001 plays including 939 at left tackle and 62 more on special teams.
