PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - 18-year-old Lance Houck has been charged in connection to bus tire slashings in Pender County last week.

Houck has been charged with 15 counts of damage to personal property and one count of disorderly conduct.

More than a dozen buses parked in the Topsail High School lot were the victim of flat tires last week.

It took more than four hours to replace 32 tires, causing a disruption of bus service for the five Topsail schools.

School leaders said the damage totals around $15,000 and the money is not covered by insurance.

The director of transportation wants to get new security cameras for the parking lot so something like this doesn't happen again.

Houck's bond is set at $18,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 12, 2013.
