WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Increasing clouds throughout the day will be the precursor to what will become a wet and stormy evening. The showers, set up by a low pressure center pushing northeast out of the Northern Gulf of Mexico, will bring soaking rains to the region. This same system will intensify as it moves off shore passing the Carolinas, bringing wet and snowy conditions to the mid-Atlantic and northeastern US.
Friday we will see our conditions clearing quickly as the before mentioned low pressure center moves north and high pressure moves over the Ohio Valley. For us this will mean plenty of sunshine and temperatures near normal.
Some small rain chances will build early next week ahead of a cold front that could produce thunderstorms Wednesday.
