COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The groundbreaking
for the new Columbus County courthouse annex building happened Tuesday.
Construction is expected to last for 18 months. County commissioners say the new building will provide better security, more courtrooms and additional parking.
The county will still use the current courthouse even after the new courthouse is built.
