
A West Bladen student was charged for cursing at the school principal.BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A West Bladen student has been charged with simple assault after verbally confronting the school principal.
According to a Bladen County Schools spokeswoman, Principal Toni Warrick stepped in to break-up an altercation among some students.
One of the students allegedly used profanity when speaking with Warrick. As a result, the student was charged with simple assault of the principal.
WECT.com asked the school system what kind of punishment the student will receive because of the charge.
A spokeswoman responded with the following policy definition from the Bladen County Code of Conduct book.
"Assault on school personnel as a level III violation; "assault on school personnel occurs when a school official is put in reasonable apprehension of harmful, offensive, or injurious contact by any student or behavior of a student that could reasonably cause physical injury to any school official. A level III violation could result in a 10-day suspension."
