WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A private contractor hired by the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will resume replacing water valves Tuesday.
The repairs will take place along a portion of 16th Street between Castle and Ann Streets and take place at night between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. in an effort to lessen service and traffic impacts in the area.
According to CFPUA, about 70 customers in the area of the project will see their service impacted. CFPUA hand-delivered these residents notifications last week to inform them of the project and issued a precautionary boil water advisory for those customers.
CFPUA said the work is expected to take three to four days to complete.
Some intersections will be closed during the project so drivers can expect minor detours and lane reductions.
