
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Coastal Athletics near Laney High School hosted a baseball and softball equipment donation Saturday afternoon for the Wilmington Miracle League.
All donations will be provided to children and adults with special needs that will being participating in the Miracle League. A number of players and coaches from around the area spent the day donating their time and even honed their game at the training facility for the upcoming season.
The event was organized by Sander Holt, a student from Laney High School.
After breaking ground in 2012, the Wilmington Miracle League hopes to begin play later this year. The league has raised over $1 million for the baseball field and playground. The organization hopes to raise the remaining funds in order to finish the field and to acquire more equipment necessary to play.
