WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – We started off below freezing across the area this morning, but temperatures will climb near 50 this afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies for much of the day. Clouds will start to increase this evening ahead of our next cold front.
Tonight, lows will fall into the upper 30s with mostly cloudy skies. I'm not expecting a lot of rain with this front, mainly just isolated showers. Precipitation will move in late tonight into the early morning hours Sunday.
The front will move offshore by tomorrow morning; however, we could see some lingering clouds, which will give way to mostly sunny skies by tomorrow afternoon.
Temperatures are expected to fall into the low 30s Sunday night, so prepare for another night below freezing.
Our next best chance of rain is associated with another cold front that will sweep through the area late Tuesday. About a 30% chance of rain is expected.
