The accident happened on I-40 near mile marker 420.PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – An accident involving a truck
with a utility trailer attached blocked traffic on I-40 heading into Wilmington
just after lunchtime Thursday.
According to troopers with Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Ron
McKee was driving the Ford F250 truck on the highway and made a U-turn at mile
marker 403.
Allison Knight, 33, was driving a Honda Accord behind McKee
and hit the rear of the trailer. The car hit the median, flipped over and
landed on its left side.
Knight was taken to the hospital by Airlink and troopers
believe she is in stable condition.
McKee was also taken to the hospital, but has since been
released.
Charges in the accident are pending.
