Young dancers help out Make A Wish FoundationWILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Dance Competition on Sunday worked to raise money for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. This was the fifth year for the event.
Dancers from the Leap Above Dance Studio, the Studio 1 Dance Conservatory, and Pleasure Island Dance Company participated in the event.
Over the past five years, the fundraiser has given around $15,000 to the Make a Wish Foundation. Organizers say it's a great way to get kids thinking about giving back, even at a young age.
"It's definitely important to get these young dancers thinking about giving back to the community," said organizer Brooklyne Williamson. "It's something that's going to follow them and carry them through the rest of their life for the rest of their life."
