EARLY SCHOOL RELEASES: Some schools getting out early Friday

Due to the possibility of wintry weather in parts of Southeastern North Carolina, some local school systems are releasing early on Friday, Jan. 25. Due to the possibility of wintry weather in parts of Southeastern North Carolina, some local school systems are releasing early on Friday, Jan. 25.

SOUTHEASTERN NC (WECT) - Due to the possibility of wintry weather in parts of Southeastern North Carolina, some local school systems are releasing early on Friday, Jan. 25.

Duplin County Schools will release at 1 p.m.

Sampson County Schools will release at 12:30 p.m.

Clinton City Schools will release at 1:30 p.m.

Cumberland County Schools will release two hours early. Prime Time will also not be open after school.

Fayetteville State University will close at 1:00 p.m. All classes and university events are cancelled.

Scotland County Schools will run on a staggered bell schedule, as follows:

  • Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:00 a.m.
  • High schools will dismiss at 11:20 a.m.
  • Middle schools will dismiss at noon.
  • Early college will dismiss at 1:00 p.m.

Hoke County Schools will release students at two times:

  • Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
  • Middle and high schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m.

James Sprunt Community College will be closed Saturday, Jan. 26.
