
Around 80 families lost day care assistance last fall because of state budget cuts.PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Dozens of families in Pender County will be able to get help again with child care assistance after losing it just months ago.
Around 80 families lost day care assistance last fall because of state budget cuts. The approved budget cut subsidized childcare funding by $11 million.
The Pender County Department of Social Services recently received more than $28,000 from Smart Start of Pender County, Inc., meaning services will be restored for 92 children if they are eligible.
