NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – New Hanover County school board members met Wednesday to discuss and prioritize the needs for the school system.
Staff members have listed about 25 projects, and the board will reprioritize what they deem necessary.
Staff anticipates up to a five-year implementation period for all the projects, with the top priorities beginning as soon as next year.
A new elementary school and the land for it are currently on top of list, followed by district-wide infrastructure improvements (issues not connected to specific school renovations).
About 17 projects, including district wide technology updates, could be included for $200 million.
