Britt Motorsports in Wilmington has been closed since Christmas and will remain closed.
However, according to Britt, he's working with a financial advisor in trying to get a loan. His desire is to reopen. He says that if he gets loan, he could reopen by February.
The shop in Wilmington was open for 37 years, and at one point, Scott Britt had five stores open throughout Southeastern NC.
But up until recently, the two in Fayetteville and Wilmington were the only ones left. Britt Motorsports in Fayetteville, where 15 were previous employed, is also closed until further notice.
When Britt closed his business last month, he had 18 employees; most of whom he says are family members.
In 2011, Britt Motorsports filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
In 2010, felony charges related to his motorcycle business were dismissed.
