NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Sunday was the grand opening for a new Vietnamese Buddhist Temple on Gordon Road.
Nearly a dozen monks from across the country came to Wilmington for the dedication. All of the statues and items on the alter came from Vietnam. One Wilmington woman, who is 93-years-old told WECT that she has been waiting a long time for a temple like this.
"Today is important because I have been waiting for a temple like this for a long time, I am very happy," said Dao Schultz.
