WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Unlike last weekend, where temperatures climbed into the mid to upper 70s, highs will only climb into the upper 50s today, but still above average.
High pressure will remain in control across much of the southeast throughout the weekend. An area of high pressure off shore is funneling in moisture, on shore, in the form of clouds. Areas closer to the coast will see some passing clouds today, but inland locations can expect mostly sunny conditions.
Skies will remain clear tonight and winds will be light as well, allowing temperatures to fall rapidly. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s overnight.
A slight warm-up is expected tomorrow and winds will start to pick up as an arctic frontal boundary draws closer. Highs will climb into the mid 60s.
Good luck if you are racing in the 5th Annual Cold Stroke Classic today.
