PARK CITY, UT (WECT) - Leaders from the North Carolina Film Office (NCFO) are pitching producers and flirting with filmmakers in an effort to bring more movies and money to North Carolina.
Members from the NCFO are at this year's Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The annual festival brings together industry leaders as filmmakers showcase their work.
While at the festival, the NCFO will be meeting with filmmakers and producers to pitch the state as a location for shoots. They will highlight all North Carolina has to offer, including the 25% tax incentive program.
According to a press release, the NCFO will host a filmmakers' reception on Saturday, January 19.
Additionally, state film commissioner Aaron Syrett will also be part of a live webinar on film financing and incentives. That is taking place Thursday, January 24 at 2 p.m. ET. To participate, go to this website.
"Sundance is great opportunity to meet with independent filmmakers who are looking to bring their next great project to life," said Syrett. "This is one of our most important business trips of the year and having a North Carolina presence at this type of festival says a lot to filmmakers and producers."
This is the fifth consecutive year that North Carolina has marketed the state at Sundance.
The NCFO also has attended the Tribecca Film Festival in New York and the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
