BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Elizabethtown Primary School was evacuated Friday morning in response to a bomb threat, a Bladen County school system spokesperson confirmed.

Sheriff's officials say the threat was reported around 9:07 a.m.

School officials immediately activated an evacuation process so that all 556 students and 86 staff members were taken by buses to a site at the National Guard Armory.

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office bomb dog search team proceeded to search the campus and all buildings, and they found that the school did not have any bombs.

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office then released students into the care of school officials, so that students and staff members arrived back at school at about 11:15 a.m.

An automated call from the school's principal went out to parents that informed them a bomb threat was called into the school right around the time the threat was made.
