WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Frigid Arctic air rushes in behind last night's cold front bringing unseasonably cool temperatures to the region for the first time since the first week of January.
High temperatures will struggle into the mid to upper40s today in spite of the sunny skies. Winds will be raw at times with northerly gusts up to 30 mph expected making it ‘feel like' it is in the 30s for much of the day.
Tonight conditions are primed to really cool down as temperatures will drop under calming winds to the mid 20s.
Gradual warming is expected Sunday before another dry blast of cold air moves in for the middle of next work week.
