NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Some lucky safe haven fans got a sneak peak behind the scenes Thursday night.
Two theaters at Mayfaire were dedicated to a live Q&A session from Hollywood with the cast of Safe Haven.
Safe Haven is the Nicholas Sparks novel being made into a movie that was shot primarily in Southport.
When asked about Southport, here's what Sparks had to say:
"By the time you get to Southport, it's this big!" Sparks says. "And you're like, that's so strange, why is Charlotte so huge, and Southport has nobody!?"
The viewers in the audience got a good laugh out of that one.
There were lots of people at the event, filling up the two theaters up.
Many people from Southport made the trip up to Wilmington for the event.
Viewers got to hear from Nicholas Sparks as well as the stars of the show, Josh Duhamel, and Julianne Hough. They also got an exclusive look at scenes from the movie.
It goes without saying that this movie has a lot of supporters especially in the Southport area.
The movie will hit theaters Valentine's Day, February 14.
