Funeral for Brunswick Co. detective scheduled for Saturday

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Funeral arrangements for a detective with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office are scheduled for Saturday.

Detective Kyle Jones, 41, was at home when he passed away Monday.

The family visitation is scheduled for Friday at New Beginnings Church in Shallotte from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to the Facebook page for the sheriff's office.

The church is located at 730 Whiteville Rd.

The funeral service will take place Saturday at Odell Williamson Auditorium at 1 p.m., and the burial will be held afterwards at Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The auditorium is located at Hwy. 17, 50 College Rd. NE, and the address of Brunswick Memorial Gardens is 5229 Ocean Hwy W.

Jones was a 19-year veteran of law enforcement. According to the sheriff's office, he served the citizens of Columbus County from 1994-2000, and served Brunswick County from 2000 until his death.

The sheriff's office said no foul play is suspected in Jones' death.
