CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The man who brutally killed his grandparents inside their Cleveland home was sentenced to prison on Thursday.

Anthony King was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole until 30 years have been served.

Between April 22 and April 23, the 29-year-old beat his elderly grandparents, James and Wava King, to death with a blunt instrument and then stole their vehicle. The victims' daughter discovered her mother in the living room unresponsive and called 911. Wava, 72, was lying on the couch partially covered with a blanket and pillows. The daughter was unable to locate her father or their family vehicle which was parked in the driveway, and immediately called 911.

EMS located the James in the basement, who was also unresponsive.

Both deaths were ruled as multiple blunt force traumas to the head.

King was later found driving the stolen vehicle in Parma and was arrested.

When asked why he did it, King simply answered, "I must have been crazy, that's all I know."

On November 30, King pleaded guilty to four counts of Aggravated Murder with course of conduct specifications and felony murder specifications, one count of Aggravated Burglary, two counts of Aggravated Robbery, two counts of Kidnapping, one count of Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and one count of Tampering with Evidence.
