Police officers made an arrest in the parking lot of StarNews Tuesday night for a reported hit and run. Police officers made an arrest in the parking lot of StarNews Tuesday night for a reported hit and run.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Police officers made an arrest in the parking lot of StarNews Tuesday night for a reported hit and run.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, a call went out from the 911 center around 10:30 p.m. in reference to a possible hit and run involving a 2003 black Ford Crown Victoria.

Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of StarNews and arrested 32-year-old Damiel Christopher Devane.

Devane was charged with:

  • driving while license revoked
  • speeding in excess of 15mph
  • expired registration
  • operating a vehicle without insurance
  • reckless driving with wanton disregard for the safety of others
  • hit and run
