WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Allegiant Air will no longer provide non-stop service to Orlando/Sanford from ILM effective Wednesday, Jan. 25, according to a news release.
Officials say the reason behind this decision is due to decreasing loads and future advanced bookings are not meeting their financial performance projections.
"Orlando is our number two top destination and has historically been a very successful market for us" says Jon Rosborough, Airport Director. "We will be working aggressively to market this non-stop service to our existing carriers as well as other carriers in hope of finding a replacement. Of course our customers can still get to Orlando by booking with our current carriers, Delta and US Airways" says Rosborough.
Allegiant will contact customers to inform them of the change, in addition to options for those who have made future flight reservations out of ILM.
