PITT COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Local law enforcement officers can learn more about an increasing phenomenon in North Carolina at a seminar in Pitt County.
A class about sovereign citizens is open to officers who want to learn more about tactics used by sovereign citizens when interacting with law enforcement.
The April class comes months after sheriff's deputies in Brunswick County arrested Jennifer Herring, a reported sovereign citizen.
While leading officers on a chase, Herring told a 911 operator that she would pull over for $300,000.
