The letter warns that the owners must pull the plug on the sweepstakes parlors by February 11 or face the consequences.
If the businesses are not closed by Feb. 11, they will be fined by the city $100 that day. The fines double every day after that.
A judge recently ruled that operating sweepstakes parlors in North Carolina is against the law.
