NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is continuing its comprehensive system flushing program, according to a news release.
According to the release, utility crews are currently working in Zone 10, which covers several roads and the following neighborhoods between Eastwood Road and Military Cutoff:
Inland GreensCedar RidgeWindermereEastport
Flushing is conducted Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
According to the CFPUA, it is possible that customers may experience periods of low pressure and possible discoloration while flushing is taking place in their area.
Because of this, it's recommended that customers don't wash clothes and that they minimize water use while flushing is being conducted in their zone.
Customers that do experience discoloration are advised to run the cold water for about three to five minutes to allow the lines to clear.
