
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The number of customers choosing to recycle is increasing as the city wraps up its first week on a new recycling schedule, according to a news release.
City crews have been working overtime to deliver the large blue carts to customers who signed up since carts started being delivered in Nov., according to officials.
The number of customers choosing to recycle is up almost 20% since the city proposed the new schedule last spring.
The number of customers recycling now totals about 20,000.
