WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – An upper ridge in the jet stream will build into the area over the next 6-7 days, allowing for a string of unseasonably mild weather in the days ahead. This morning we will see patchy areas of fog giving way to mostly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 60's. Spotty light showers are possible this afternoon, with any totals less than a tenth of an inch. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with some patchy fog after midnight. Lows will be in the low 50's.
Thursday and Friday will be mostly cloudy with some small shower chances. Highs will remain in the upper 60's. Over the weekend the upper trough will sharpen and highs will soar into the low and mid 70's! Right now no rain is in the weekend forecast.
