NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – More New Hanover County Schools students will be able to play junior varsity lacrosse.
School board members moved forward with plans to add junior varsity lacrosse to high schools in the county.
It will cost around $66,400 to implement the program. Some board members expressed concerns about field space, Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Rick Holliday, said they would make it work.
Costs are expected to be around $11,000 per boys' team and $5,300 for each girls' team; the difference in cost there is because players on the boys' team require more equipment and gear than those on the girls' teams.
