WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Leaders in Wilmington will soon decide whether or not to waive a parking deck fee for the upcoming Susan G. Komen's Race for the Cure.
Recently the city adopted an ordinance to charge any and all races for each participant, but the group will escape that fee because they filed before the ordinance was in place.
If council waives the parking deck fee, the city will only collect money on street barricades.
Events at the Wilmington Race for the Cure include a 5K Race, 5K Walks, a Kids' Zone and a Survivor Breakfast.
Monday is the last day for the early enrollment prices, but participants have until March 1 to register.
