When the store first opened, officers were contracted from the Wilmington Police Department to help control traffic.
Now, council members have approved plans for the installation of a westbound lane on Oleander Drive near Trader Joe's. City staff said they didn't have the funds to create the extra lane while the store was being constructed, but now has the money for the project.
A new right turn lane to head north on College Road will be added to Oleander Drive.
