WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Some lingering morning clouds are the only hiccup in what will be a seasonable and sunny day here in the Wilmington area. Northeasterly breezes Monday, brought on by high pressure, will keep high temperatures in the mid 50s despite the sunny afternoon conditions.
Tuesday some clouds will likely stream back on shore as an inverted trough slides back toward the coast. This will add some small rain chances and keep temperatures in the low 60s, but as we head into the middle of the week the warm-up begins. Highs move into the upper 60s for the end of the week, pumping into the 70s by the weekend. Rain chances accompany the warmer weather – with the highest chances Thursday as an area of low pressure slides north out of the Gulf.
