Local photographers ban together to Click for KidsWILMINGTON, NC - (WECT) - Local photographers joined together on Saturday to Click for Kids. The event worked to raise money for the victims of the horrific massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary school and their families and friends.
It started out as a nationwide event called, the Olivia Act. An anonymous photographer started a trend on her facebook page by offering a free photo shoot to families that might not otherwise be able to afford one. Her goal was to make sure everyone had pictures of their children.
In Wilmington, photographers took it one step further, by also turning it into a fundraiser, and collecting donations for victims and their families and friends.
"After a couple of days, after the initial shock wore off, I was just driven to help," said photographer, Nichole Lupton. "I love photography, so I feel like if I can meld the two things than that's a great thing."
It took place from 9am to 5pm, at 27 North Front Street in Downtown Wilmington. They originally hoped to raise $3,000.
