WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – With high pressure overhead, expect abundant sunshine today with temperatures in the low 50s. Clouds will increase tonight ahead of our next cold front. We aren't going to see overnight temperatures as low as they were this morning due to the cloud cover; however, lows will drop into the upper 30s near the coast and mid 30s inland.
High pressure will shift off-shore Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front. Sunday will be mainly cloudy; however, we aren't completely ruling out the chance for a scattered shower. Our best chance of precipitation will be near the coast.
The front will move through overnight Sunday. High pressure will build in behind it for the early part of next week.
There is some uncertainty with the timing of our next system, but it looks as though we could start to see unsettled weather as early as Wednesday.
