WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – A man was killed in an accident on JK Powell Boulevard in Whiteville Thursday night.
According to police, Ronnie Newsome was driving near Quality Street when his vehicle ran off the road into a ditch and flipped over three times.
Investigators said Newsome was not wearing a seatbelt and believe alcohol and narcotics could have been a factor. They are waiting a toxicology report to confirm their suspicions.
Newsome owned Newsome's Custom Window and Door.
