WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) That new pair of sunglasses you picked up from that cool uncle, or the pair you treated yourself to at the after Christmas sale will finally get put into action today as high pressure moves in. Don't get me wrong, it's not going to be warm, afternoon highs will move into the mid-50s after this chilly start, but at least it won't be accompanied by a steady drizzle.
The colder air moving in will be felt for sure by anyone with early Saturday morning plans as the weekend starts with temperatures in the low 30s and upper 20s. However with the sunny skies we should be able to pull off a fairly decent day into the mid-50s. Sunday will be warmer, but clouds could move through and perhaps even an early Monday morning shower as another cold front drives our way from the Ohio River valley.
Next week looks calm until Wednesday as another cold front brings shower and thunderstorm chances to the south.
