BURGAW, NC (WECT) - Fire investigators say a gas grill caused a house fire that happened on New Savannah Rd. Wednesday evening around 6:30 p.m., according to Fire Marshal Charles Newman.
A woman and her two children were inside at the time, but they were able to get out safely.
The fire badly damaged the home and left it a total loss.
Fire officials believe the fire may have started because of a malfunction in a gas grill, but it is still under investigation, according to Newman.
Four different departments worked to put the fire out.
